1 The daffodils that I bought the other day are all open and very beautiful.
2 When we were in America about 30 years ago, I bought some fabric to make into Trapunto panels. I still haven’t used them! However, the technique has stayed with me and I decided to use it on the baby blanket that I am making. I’ve been working on it all day, using stem stitch and chain stitch so that each segment of The Very Hungry Caterpillar is now padded and raised and looks brilliant! I am really pleased with it.
3 Embroidering all day called for a very simple supper! Chicken risotto with leeks and mushrooms with a spinach salad with balsamic dressing – delicious!

I’ve almost finished the blanket stitch all around the edge and then I’m looking forward to seeing it wrapped around the new baby in his/her push-chair! Due on 15th April so hopefully not long now…. 🙂

Hi,
I can never frown in front of a daffodil; yours are exquisite.
Congrats on your beautiful needle work. 🙂

I was in England and Scotland years ago around the first of May and it was the large plots of daffodils seemly growing wild in patches of ground tucked away , though more like hidden away -that still I fondly remember. Pictures such as yours reminded me of this.
I had to smirk when I seen your risotto pic -I doubt anyone would find ‘saltines and Gatorade’ appetizing. Though I am starting to venture out to other foods -thank God!.

I didn’t think about your poor stomach when I posted that. I’m hoping that things are looking up – some chicken broth? Mashed banana? Risotto cooked only in stock? Hope you feel properly better soon! 🙂

Me too! The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a very popular book with little ones so I’m hoping the new baby will grow to love his/her caterpillar! 🙂

The Very Hungry Caterpillar… that’s a book, isn’t it? What a wonderful picture for a baby blanket.

Yes, it is – and a much loved one too as he eats his way through fruit and cupcakes, salami and ice-cream to become a butterfly! Kids (and their parents) love it. 🙂

Cornish daffodils and the Very hungry caterpillar… sniff. My childhood in one post (apart from the spinach).
