Lunch, Falmouth Docks and Spring Flowers

02 Apr

1   The family spent the morning at The Maritime Museum and we met them for lunch at The Gylly Cafe where it was, sadly, much too cold to go onto the beach.

2   Looking over the docks from Castle Drive was, as always, fascinating. We spotted the Dutch Brig, Mercedes with its tall masts in the distance. The photo of the ship in full sail is by David Barnicoat on 30th March.

3    Despite the bitter winds the Tete a Tete miniature daffodils just keep on flowering!

You are constantly making me hungry and wishing I were somewhere else – two of my favorite states of being! Great shot of the seagull!

I was so pleased he stayed so still for so long! That poached egg with Hollandaise sauce on spinach with smoked salmon fishcakes was drool-worthy indeed! 🙂

We were on Mercedes on the Sunday and Monday when, sadly, there was no sun and it was too windy to put all the sails up – but we stil had a grand time. What an adventure!

Did you find out if British magpies and Australian magpies are the same?

I listened to an Australian magpie on You Tube. Ours don’t seem to sing at all but I shall have to listen more! They never hang around for long and dash off if we are in the garden so they may sing when we are not there! 🙂
