It looks to me like rusting metal with old paint and a sprinkling of algae. Nice whatever it is!

I’m taking a long shot here. Looks like metal of some sorts, so it’s rust with all sorts of other natural effects. Therefore the artist is nature itself – the natural process of weather on something which is metal. Whatever it is it looks wonderful.

Your long shot is spot on! The metal is one of the panels on the side of the Maritime Museum and the building kind of sits in the sea. However, the sea doesn’t come anywhere as high as this panel so I’m not sure how the Bladderwrack and other seaweeds have migrated up there.

Isn’t it just glorious? Nature indeed, is the artist. 🙂

Amazing.Just goes to show how the very essence of nature itself is artistic.

    It’s a beautiful image.
I’m not overly familiar with art, but there’s something almost Van Gogh-ish about it, even though I’m pretty sure it’s not him.
My next guess would be Monet (reminds me of the “people in a park” painting (that was him, wasn’t it?).
But, since you specifically ask us who the artist was, I’m going to say that it’s you.
    Oh, or granddaughter!
    Yeah, granddaughter.
    Has to be… 😉

It looks like an abstract painting…. but could also be shallow water with algae, on the water’s edge somewhere?
