Sunshine, Ice, Green Stuffs and Beyond (Weekly Photo Challenge)

20 Jan

1    There was sunshine for a while today and it made a reflection of our little Bluebird glass etching. I had to be quick! When I tried to take a second photo it had disappeared.

2    We had a brief walk along The Great Flat Lode and the lovely Mr S spotted these icicles made of sap! The tree had been severely cut back and was weeping and its tears had frozen into beautiful icicles.

There were some lovely patterns in the puddles too.

3    So much green stuff is flourishing despite the freezing temperatures – mosses, lichen, gorse…

PS  For those who asked, The Old Tyre Swingers were brilliant – full of life and crazy music that no-one could keep still!

Awesome photographs! I especially liked the ones of the moss and lichen. Green is my favorite color!

I think I saw you in the drop of water on the moss.

The Melting Pot’s stage looks a lot like the place we ate at last night for my Granddaughter’s birthday…a hodge-podge of decorating ideas…what fun!

Your images are absolutely stunning. A pleasure going through them. The one with the ice and the bark really grabbed me.

We found it very odd that the sap had frozen into icicles as at that point, there wasn’t any other ice. Glad you likes the photos. 🙂

Amazing. Never knew it was sap. Thought it was water.

Enjoyed the walk with you via your images -through you and other in the UK I learn a little with your post -gorse for example. Also I you tubed The Old Tyre Swingers -yeeee haw, Bluegrass fusion. Hope you enjoyed I thought what I heard on you-tube intimate and very much in your face hard driven bluegrass. Needless to say I liked them.

They were really good fun! Glad you Youtubed and also enjoyed. It was a small and intimate venue and was a really good evening. They were so good and had been on BBC Radio4 and BBC 6Music that we were surprised that they only had the one small gig in Cornwall. We were lucky indeed. 🙂

In Cornwall there is a saying that one can only kiss in the months that Gorse is in flower. Actually, that’s not a problem as it is in flower the whole year round! 🙂
