How about an India inspired piece? (says she still procrastinating about yarns bought at J&S back in May for a Devon inspired free form, but happy to enable a knitting buddy).

Only just seen this – sorry. That’s an idea. I’ll put my mind to it. Thank you for the thought 🙂

You may notice though, that everything I knit is very small! I like things I can finish quite quickly!
Thank you for your lovely comments. 🙂

Wow, the circular gallery works well with these pictures! I just love the the made with love thingy, do you remember where you got it – I would love to buy some of these – would use them on the mittens that I knit!

Hello, I picked them up in a wool shop in Hayle that I go to occasionally. Your wool shop may be able to get them for you or, when I’m next down that way, I could see if they still have them and post you some! They were only 10p each so I’d be very happy to send you a bunch! 🙂
Thank you for encouraging me to try the circular gallery – I love it! 🙂

Thanks. I will try locally and if I can’t get any I will let you know! Yes, the circular gallery can be stunning sometimes.

I think all of Britain is thankful your hands remain busy. If you had no way of channeling all that energy I fear you might be a lurking menace. Naw, just pulling your yarn ball. Making and contributing is a worthy pursuit. Something passed down from generation to generation. We seem, however, to be slowing getting away from doing and making shtufffs.

I think you are right! I know Mr S finds me a challenge if I’m not busy!
It’s interesting how many people are becoming more interested in making shtuffs! I had some wonderful home made presents this year and I have lots of friends, blogging and real (!) who knit /make, not all of them as old as me by any means. Wish the trend would catch on even more though.
Happy New Year to you 🙂

Perhaps it is quiet revolt by those who wish, yearn, to be of their own making, as ‘making shtufffs’ gives one satisfaction. I hope it is not just a trend primed by nostalgia. If it is a notion with the younger set then that would be a good thing.

Thank you! It was a real challenge with no pattern, just a photo of the real thing. I used a ball-cock as the base and knitted around it. I’m truly proud of that as it’s the first thing I’ve ever made without a pattern and it was in Kensington Palace as part of the Exhibition! 🙂

It truly is brilliant. Even better knowing there was no pattern 🙂
