Tree Trunk, Periwinkle and Wren

27 Dec

1   A brief walk this afternoon down Lovers Lane and back up Chapel Walk and we found this lovely old cut-down tree trunk with moss. Looking up at the tree there was beautiful bark and a tangle of branches.

3   J and I spent a happy half hour watching the birds at the feeders in the back garden He can identify all of them!  The highlight of the afternoon was a tiny wren who stayed around long enough to have its photo taken.

I just popped over from Suzanne’s Window Into The Woods. What a lovely wren! And the Bark and Ivy photograph is gorgeous, very nice work!

You did so well to catch a photo of a wren. We have one in our garden. Blink and you’ve missed him! Lovely pictures and fabulous blog. Thank you for writing it 🙂 Avis x

Thank you! I took eight shots and only one was any good – all the others either missed it or were blurred. I was delighted with that one!
Thank you for calling in and choosing to follow. 🙂

I just read a blog about a huge tree and then immediately clicked on yours.

What a magnificent tree. Here they do something I don’t like at all, they transplant very mature olive trees from where they have grown for years into peoples’ gardens for decorative purposes, whilst I would love to have an olive tree in our garden, I would hate to uproot a settled one. Seems cruel to me! That blue periwinkle is just the most perfect blue, love it xx

Oh, the wren is so gorgeous! I love them. When they fly they look like little leaves dancing around. The tree is spectacular too. There are so many stories in their bark. Hope you had a lovely walk.

What lovely comments! Thank you so much. I love your description of the wrens as little leaves – just perfect! We did have a lovely, if short, walk. 🙂
