1 Just look at these beautiful narcissi coming into flower in my garden to honour Suffragettes, all in purple, white and green. The Hebes are doing well too.
2 I was talking about this very entertaining poem with a good friend the other day. If you don’t know it, do listen to this recording by Stanley Holloway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3jXMsfLxhI This edition, illustrated by Caroline Holden, done as a photograph album, is a delight.
3 I love being able to go out into the garden to get my herbs. Tonight I need Rosemary to finish off the Sweet Potato and Chestnut Roast that I have made for our lovely friends who are coming for dinner.

Well, I must thank El Guapo for his introduction to, and unabashed admiration of, your blog. I agree with others that I get so obsessed with poetry, I don’t take enough time to enjoy life. I’m an activist, a protofeminist from a feminist mom and grandma, as well as an activist in mental health and health care rights, plus an ally in the LBGT community worldwide.
This blog gave me a moment to ponder the beauty in the world, always at work. And I love bees more than chocolate bars, because without them, we’d have nothing. Your new admirer, Amy Barlow Liberatore (Sharp Little Pencil).

For making ordinary things special, you have inspired me to try to see the things that are part of my daily life differently. For this, you get “A very inspiring blogger” award. The post with all the usual blah blah information will be up shortly after midnight EST (US) at:

I managed to grow and not kill my first attempt at chives and I was so proud. Lovely photos!

Well done! It is lovely to have fresh herbs to use. Our chives and mint have died down for the winter but the rosemary, sage and thyme just go on and on! 🙂
