Wedding Rehearsal, Cornish Ice-cream and Email

28 Sep

1    The rehearsal for tomorrow’s Wedding Ceremony went off really well. We are planning for it to be on the beach even if it rains! We did the run-through indoors today as the tide was too far up!

The beautiful beach where the Wedding will take place.

2    There was a Kelly’s Ice-cream van on the cliffs when I went back to check out access to the beach later. I can never resist one of their ice-creams, one of the best in Cornwall!

3   Since meeting the poet, John Siddique, a few years ago at a local Readers’ Day, I’ve been getting his newsletter so I though I’d tell him about yesterday’s post. He wrote back a lovely email today, thanking me.

That ocean, that ocean, so magnificent.

Hope the wedding goes GREAT… & then the marriage too 🙂

The Wedding was brilliant and it feels right so I hope the marriage is long and happy too, as you say. 🙂

Oh for some Cornish ice-cream. When I was three months pregnant and pining for green apples, we came to the border between Devon and Cornwall, and a last Cornish ice-cream shop. We only had half a crown, and my new husband wanted an ice-cream, while I craved green apples. We rowed for half an hour outside the shop, and finally he strode off inside. I thought he’d seen the light.
But he came out with an ice-cream and one and threepence worth of apple !!!

The beast! But at least you had some apple and I hope you had at least a lick of the ice cream too! I’m glad to have brought up a memory for you. 🙂

Wedding and reception beachside. Skip wedding cake and eat ice cream instead. Sounds like a lovely day.

I’m with you there! In fact they are having mini Cornish pasties followed by mini scones with strawberry jam and Cornish cream!
      🙂

A beach wedding is so ideal my friend – I’m sure it will be fantastic 😀
And need to try Cornish ice cream at one point!

    Cheers
