Migrating Geese, Godrevy and Another Simple Supper

09 Sep

1   We took P, my brother-in-law, to the car-boot sale this morning and I found the next size up, but still very small and delightful, wet-suit for Jake but the highlight of our morning was the flocks of migrating geese, dozens of them, honking their way overhead. This is but a few of those who flew by.

2    After the boot sale we went along the coast at Godrevy, blown to bits by a crazy warm wind and came back feeling exhilarated and exhausted by the effort of battling the wind!

We did heed the warnings!

3   Made a fabulously delicious simple supper of Leek Risotto with Chestnuts!

Leek and Chestnut Risotto

I’ll put the recipe up if anyone fancies it – truly scrumptious!

Just been watching the closing ceremony of the Paralympics and want to say how inspirational the athletes are. I hate, though, the hypocrisy of our politicians who at one moment praise the athletes and in another make polices that result in hurting so many of our disabled people.

I live in Jack Miner country and the geese are a constant here–we appreciate them too

Wonderful to hear them go by. You are lucky to have them as a ‘constant’. We see them rarely 🙂

You know that sign about the unstable edge – a woman in Victoria fell over the edge of a cliff. She was disabled & in a wheelchair. It must have been so horrific. Not to bring your joyous post down! but it’s just amazing we need signs like this to remind us!! I’d be very safely from the edge.

Loved the light house, how it’s all surrounded by a ‘golf green’ 🙂

You can be sure I was a long way from the edge! I took this photo with a zoom!

Another lovely post, sorry to repeat myself, but I really enjoy your blog!! Isn’t it exhilarating how the wind can blow off the cobwebs!! I love inhaling and embracing a wind on a sea front cliff, leaving me with nothing but a feeling of being alive and well.

And agree on the kudos to the amazing paralympians and what a great job the UK did of hosting 2012.
