1 Somehow a snail found his way into our sun room. I love the little white dashes on his neck but was concerned to see that his shell seems to be cracked. I helped him out into the back field.

2 My beloved wooden elephant got a polish today. I fell for him many years ago in a flea market, paid rather too much for him and had to go home to fetch Mr S to carry him home as he’s far too heavy for me.

3 The school where we normally meet for choir being closed, we met in Treslothnan Church and had a brilliant sing. The acoustics are lovely. The beautiful thing was one piece especially that we are learning, Megruli Nana, a lullaby from Samagreto, West Georgia and it is absolutely stunning. Listen to this version I have found on Youtube…..Megruli nana It will be brilliant when we’ve finished learning it.

With you on the snail… Have you read ” The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating” By Elisabeth Tova Bailey? I think you’d love it… the singing…your choir must be very skilled, and it must have sounded wonderful with the church acoustics…

Our choir is getting good! Claire was delighted with how quickly we learned the first two lines last night but does say we’ll need six weeks to nail it. We have a performance in Truro Cathedral in October where C’s three choirs will all sing together – a hundred of us. That will be something!

I listened to the utube song. I know you will enjoy learning and singing that.
I never sing with a group but just in front of my computer with the notes and words in front of me. I do have fun that way but am sure group singing would be really rewarding.

I’m very glad you listened and you are right, we will enjoy the challenge of learning that. Group singing is brilliant. I heard once that singing in harmony is good for our health and happiness. I can’t speak highly enough of Community choirs like the ones I sing with!
