1 After singing with Sophie and the Suitcases this morning, I took the Sally-boots that I made this week to a friend for her new baby boy, Declan.
2 I have been reminded this afternoon by of a quotation that pleases me. Thank you, Usha Pisharody
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.”
~Julius Henry “Groucho” Marx.
3 It’s been a long time since my last piano lesson but I have practised a lot since we came home from Senegal and today my lovely teacher said, with the first half of one piece, that I would have been given top marks if that had been the exam! Now I have to make the rest of the piece as good!

Glad you like the Sally-boots! I love making them, every time and I’m told, they stay on unlike most other baby boots 🙂

My mom-in-law knits and I love the thick woolen socks that I got from her. They’re still in perfect shape after so many years.

Malou, knitted things do stay in shape if they are loved and looked after as your socks obviously are! Could your MIL perhaps teach you to knit? 🙂

I’m afraid I don’t have the patience for knitting, same with sewing. My daughter is so keen to learn so she does pretend knitting with chopsticks. 😉

Beautiful boots my friend – I am sure they were much loved 😀
And wonderful job on playing the piano – I failed to practice that or the flute before realizing singing was my forte 🙂
Cheers

Glad you like the Sally-boots! I love making them and, yes, they are always well received. Thanks too about the piano. I started learning when I was 11 but gave up before 1st Grade as my teacher was horrid and hit me over the knuckles with a wooden ruler whenever I made a mistake! Starting again as an adult has been a revelation and I am pleased that I enjoy it now. I also love singing! 🙂

Glad you like the Sally-boots! I love making them. And yes, lovely praise from my piano teacher: clever, too, as it makes me want to practise more! 🙂
