Indian Elephants, ‘Dance Me To The End Of Love’ and Snowdog

1    These beautiful batik elephants that I bought in Pokhara, Nepal, are over the door in our bathroom so every day I am reminded of that magical holiday.

2   I have listened over and over again to Claire’s singing of my part in ‘Dance Me To The End Of Love’, singing along with her in an effort to be word (and note) perfect for tomorrow’s gig at The Poly in Falmouth.

3    These are all the sections of the Snowdog which I am painstakingly making. I’ve started sewing up and stuffing but it’s a very fiddly job. When assembled, these pieces will be a beautiful Snowdog!

Weekly Photo Challenge – Resolved, Snowflake and Skeletal Leaf

1   This year I have resolved to keep my wool collection in a more organised fashion and for my birthday, the lovely Mr S bought me this compartmented display box in beautiful mango wood. Today, I have sorted all my bits and balls of wool and am very pleased with the result. Each one as I put it away is full of memories of what I knitted and for whom – it’s lovely!  Have a look at this post to see some of my projects http://mybeautfulthings.com/2013/01/04/weekly-photo-challenge-my-2012-in-pictures-a-year-of-knitting/Mango wood box

2   I’ve started knitting The Snowman’s Snowdog (it’s a bit tricky) but I love the way the ball of wool turned into a snowball as soon as I took off the wrapper!

3   The Schizophragma hydrangeoides, in the front garden, has the most beautiful skeletal flowers just barely hanging on its branches.

My new project to start off 2013 is to make the Snowman’s Snowdog.

Smiles, Snowdog and Sky After Stormy Shower

1 When I sorted out the children’s room I discovered that the toys on the windowsill had all been sitting in condensation. I put them on the bathroom radiator to dry and they’ve given us smiles each time we’ve been in.

2 I was told that there is a pattern for the Snowman’s Snowdog in Women’s Weekly magazine so off I went to buy it. There was enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair of pants as my Aunty used to say so I didn’t take an umbrella. Mistake! The heavens opened and I was drenched but I did get my magazine. Next knitting project now decided!

3 As I arrived home, the stormy shower stopped as suddenly as it began and left us this beautiful sky.
